Good morning, Farideh Saba, petition manager, has prepared the attached opening remarks for the PRB Chair, Tom Blount. I am providing a copy to the PRB members and advisors so that you can follow along during tomorrow's call w/

Mr. Saporito.

During tomorrow's call, there will be an opportunity for the NRC staff to ask clarifying questions of the petitioner (after the petitioner gives his presentation). Typically, we ask that all questions be held until the petitioner has completed his presentation. The PRB will not make any decisions during the call tomorrow. All of this is clarified in the attached opening remarks for Tom Blount.

What happens after tomorrow's call?

A. The court reporter will provide a transcript of the call to Farideh. Farideh will forward the transcript to all PRB members and advisors. If you see any clerical errors such as misspelled names/titles, acronyms, dates, etc.,

that feedback can be provided to Farideh so that the transcript can be corrected before it is placed in ADAMS.

The transcript will become a supplement to the petition and is made public.

B. I will coordinate per your availability to arrange an internal PRB meeting so that we can make a initial recommendation to accept or reject the petition for review under 10 CFR 2.206. Farideh will prepare notes for the PRB to facilitate this discussion. Farideh I believe I already sent you a template for the format. If not, please advise and I'll get it to you ASAP.

C. Once we make the initial recommendation, Farideh will inform the petitioner and per MD 8.11, if he has additional information, he may request a 2nd call with the PRB. If he has no new information, the initial recommendation becomes the final and Farideh will document the final recommendation in either an acknowledgement or closure letter to the petitioner.

D. If the PRB final recommendation is to accept the petition for review, the next would be to issue a Proposed Director's Decision.

Next Steps:

• Farideh plans to confirm if this date/time are available to Mr. Saporito. In addition, she will confirm if a one hour call with Saporito is suffiicent. Approximately 35 minutes of that hour would be allotted for Mr.

Saporito's presentation. If Mr. Saporito needs a full hour for his presentation, that would extend the time of our call. Hence I am just blocking out the 10:30 am - noon window. Once he confirms, I'll be able to modify this meeting request to reflect the actual scheduled time for the meeting.
