By letter dated April 29, 2011, (ML111220091), the Southern Nuclear Operating Company, Inc. (SNC) submitted a request (NL110675) to revise the Technical Specifications (TS), in Appendix A to Facility Operating License Number NPF2 and NPF8 for the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2 respectively and NPF68 and NPF81 for the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant, Units 1 and 2 respectively. The changes would revise TS section 3.4.15 for the Reactor Coolant System (RCS) Leakage Detection Instrumentation consistent with Technical Specification Task Force traveler TSTF513A, Revision 3 titled Revise PWR Operability Requirements and Actions for RCS Leakage instrumentation. | |||
The purpose of this email is to provide the results of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staffs acceptance review of this application. The acceptance review was performed to determine if there is sufficient technical information in scope and depth to allow the NRC staff to conduct a detailed technical review. The acceptance review is also intended to identify whether the application has any readily apparent information insufficiencies in its characterization of the regulatory requirements or the licensing basis of the plant. | |||
