WATTS BAR EMERGENCY EXERCISE (June 7, 2006)The purpose of this memorandum is to inform you of the Region II plans for the Watts BarEmergency Exercise. The exercise will be on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, and there will be noPost Plume Phase activities related to this exercise. For the exercise, Region II will participate with a Base Team and a Site Team. Headquarters will not participate. The State of Tennesseewill be fully participating and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal EmergencyManagement Agency (FEMA) will conduct an evaluation of the State and local agencies thatare involved. Enclosed is a listing of the Region II Site Team position assignments. All of the participantslisted on the enclosures have been personally contacted to ensure that there is not a scheduleconflict. However, if a conflict should develop, please let Jim Hufham know, as soon as possible. In preparation for the exercise, all participants should attend the TVA Watts Bar ExerciseBriefing on Tuesday, May 30, 2006. This briefing will be provided by TVA representatives andwill be at 10:30 a.m., in the main conference room. Additionally all participants will receive aTeam Position Briefing. If you are unable to attend the TVA briefing, copies of the handout material will be provided to you prior to the exercise dates.Since the Site Team will participate from the TVA Central Emergency Control Center (CECC) inChattanooga, Tennessee, most of the participants will drive to Chattanooga on the morning ofJune 7, 2006,  and return that afternoon.
