Crystal River Units 1 & 2 are fossil generating units outside the Crystal River Unit 3 Protected Area and the discharge canal is common to all three units. Therefore, with the status of Crystal River Unit 3 Nuclear Plant being Shutdown/Mode 5, there is no significant thermal discharge to the Crystal River discharge canal for manatee artificial thermal refuge. In accordance with the Crystal River Power Plant Manatee Protection Plan, notification to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will be made for an unplanned shutdown that is expected to result in no thermal discharge for 24 hours or longer. This is a 4-hour reportable event per 10CFR50.72(b) (2) (xi) as a notification to a government agency has been made. | ||
