In a telephone conversation on August 9, 2013, Mr. D. McNeil, Senior Operations Engineer, and Mr. M. DeVault, Quad Cities Training Director, made arrangements for the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to conduct an inspection using Temporary Instruction (TI) 2515-186, Inspection of Procedures and Processes for Responding to Potential Aircraft Threats, at Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2. This inspection is planned for the week of September 23, 2013.

Additionally, in order to minimize the impact to your onsite resources and to ensure a productive inspection for both sides, please have available the procedures that would be followed when responding to an aircraft threat and any related lesson plans pertinent to the inspection. Additionally, the inspector needs to review your aircraft threat procedure and a list of corrective action reports regarding security and licensed operator issues, the week before the inspection.

QUAD CITIES NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2, NOTIFICATION OF NRC INSPECTION

Dear Mr. Pacilio:

In a telephone conversation on August 9, 2013, Mr. D. McNeil, Senior Operations Engineer, and Mr. M. DeVault, Quad Cities Training Director, made arrangements for the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to conduct an inspection using Temporary Instruction (TI) 2515-186, Inspection of Procedures and Processes for Responding to Potential Aircraft Threats, at Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2. This inspection is planned for the week of September 23, 2013.
