.' NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNIT NO. 1 (TAC N0. 69029) l 1989 REFUELING OUTAGE IGSCC INSPECTION RESULTS - MILLSTONE By letters dated July 27, 1988, and February 3, 1989, NNEC0 submitted the details of-the intergranular stress corrosion cracking (IGSCC) inspection plan

.to be conducted during.the 1989 refueling outage at Millstone Unit 1.

By letters dated May 4 and May 17, 1989, NNEC0 submitted the results and

' additional information for the IGSCC inspection. Based on our review.of the submitted information,.the staff concludes that the IGSCC inspection, weld overlay repair _ and expanded Category D_ inspection sample are satisfactory and that Millstone Unit'l can be safely returned to power and operated.in its present configuration throughout Cycle 13.

The~ staff will issue a formal safety evaluation on.the IGSCC inspection and repair results under separate cover. As in the past, we will require that the

.IGSCC inspection plan for the Reload 13/ Cycle 14 refueling outage be submitted for ourL review and comment at least three months before the start of that refueling outage.

It should be noted that our review of your July 27, 1988,

.-submittal with regard to the provisions of Generic Letter 88-01 is still ongoing.and will be addressed in a separate safety evaluation (TAC No.

69145).
