TERMINATION OF SPECIAL NUCLEAR MATERIALS LICENSE NUMBER SNM-2019 FOR THE GE-HITACHI GLOBAL LASER ENRICHMENT FACILITY (ENTERPRISE PROJECT IDENTIFICATION NUMBER: L-2020-DTP-0000)
Dear Mr. Owens:
By letter dated February 18, 2020 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System
[ADAMS] Accession Number ML20064C146), as modified on August 25, 2020 (ADAMS Accession Number ML20282A567) you requested that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) terminate Special Nuclear Materials License SNM-2019 for the GE-Hitachi Global Laser Enrichment Facility. You also requested that GLE be granted a new facility clearance. The NRC staff has reviewed your request, and concluded that termination of SNM-2019 should be approved. Therefore, SNM-2019 is hereby terminated, as requested.
The requested new facility security clearance is being granted via a separate letter from the NRC.
Amendment 1 to SNM-2019, terminating the license, is provided in Enclosure 1 to this letter.
The NRC staff report documenting its review for this licensing action is provided in Enclosure 2 to this letter.
This action closes efforts under Enterprise Project Identification Number L-2020-DTP-0000.
