SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION NO. 50-213/92-25

An announced safety inspection of the radiation protection program at your facility was

conducted by Mr. J. Furia of this office on December 14-17, 1992.- The inspection findings

were discussed with members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection on December

17, 1992.

Areas examined during this inspection are important to health and safety and included the

radiation protection program. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective

examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and

observations by the inspector. The specific areas included management organization,

training, assurance of quality, radiation control during normal operations, ALARA, and -

_

implementation of these programs.

Continued strong performance in the radiation protection program was noted. _ Training of

radiation protection technicians, including continuing training and training for contractor

~

- radiation protection personnel was a' notable strength. Within the scope of this inspection, no_

radiological safety' concerns or violations of regulatory requirements were identified.
