This refers to the routine inspection conducted by Mr. W. Madden of this office

on July 1 and 2,1985, at Narragansett, Rhode Island, of activities authorized

by NRC License No. R-95 and to the discussions of our findings held by

Mr. Madden with yourself at the conclusion of the inspection.

Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I

Inspection. Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the

inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative

records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.

Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.

In accordance with Section 2.790(d) of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2,

Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, your controls for safeguarding special

nuclear materials are deemed to be commercial or financial information within

the meaning of 10 CFR 9.5(a)(4) and are subject to disclosure only in accord-

ance with the provisions of 10 CFR 9.12. A paragraph in the enclosed inspec-

tion report contains Confidential and/or Financial Information (C0FI); there-

fore, it will not be placed in the Public Document Room and will receive

limited distribution. A copy of this letter and the sections of the enclosures

that do not contain 2.790(d) information will be placed in the NRC's Public

Document Room in accordance with 2.790(a).
