At the beginning of the report period, Nine Mile Point Unit 1 remained shutdown for forced outage 03-02 to repair #13 shaft driven feedwater pump clutch. The plant was retumed to service on May 3, 2003 at 1216 hours0.0141 days <br />0.338 hours <br />0.00201 weeks <br />4.62688e-4 months <br />. Full power operation was achieved at 1620 hours0.0188 days <br />0.45 hours <br />0.00268 weeks <br />6.1641e-4 months <br /> on May 4, 2003.

On May 5, 2003, at 0000 hours0 days <br />0 hours <br />0 weeks <br />0 months <br />, a power reduction to approximately 75% was performed for a control rod pattem adjustment. Full power operation was resumed at 0817 hours0.00946 days <br />0.227 hours <br />0.00135 weeks <br />3.108685e-4 months <br /> on May 5, 2003.

On May 17, 2003 at 1100 hours0.0127 days <br />0.306 hours <br />0.00182 weeks <br />4.1855e-4 months <br />, a planned power reduction to 80% was performed for a modification functional test of the #11 High Pressure Coolant Injection (HPCI) flow controller.

Full power operation was resumed at 1600 hours0.0185 days <br />0.444 hours <br />0.00265 weeks <br />6.088e-4 months <br /> later the same day. Modification functional testing of the #12 HPCI flow controller was performed starting at 1055 hours0.0122 days <br />0.293 hours <br />0.00174 weeks <br />4.014275e-4 months <br /> on May 18, 2003, with power again reduced to 80%. There were no challenges to the electromatic relief valves or safety valves during this reporting period.
