Dear Mr. Olson:
The purpose of this letter is to notify you that U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Region IV
staff will conduct an augmented inspection team follow-up inspection at your River Bend
Station.  The inspection will be comprised of resident inspectors and a regional reactor inspector
from the NRC Region IV office.  The inspection will be conducted in accordance with Inspection
Procedure 93800 and multiple reactor oversight process baseline inspection procedures.
The schedule for the inspection is as follows:
 
In-office preparation: September 10 - 14, 2012
Onsite inspection:  
September 17 - 21, 2012
This inspection is resource intensive both for the NRC inspectors and your staff.  In order to
minimize the impact to your onsite resources and to ensure a productive inspection, we have
enclosed a request for documents needed for this inspection.  Please note that the documents
are requested to be provided by September 4, 2012.  In addition, we request that appropriate
personnel knowledgeable of each of the unresolved items documented in NRC Inspection
Report 0500458/2012009 be available to support the inspectors during the onsite inspection
week.
We have discussed this inspection activity with your staff.  If there are any questions about this
inspection or the material requested, please contact the team lead, Brian Tindell, at

inspectors and provide the documentation during the first day of the onsite inspection. The
inspectors will request additional documents during the preparation and onsite inspection

screenings, and post-event risk analysis:

2. Past Operability of the Reactor Core Isolation Cooling System
3. Implementation of the Procedure for Infrequently Performed Tests or Evolutions
4. Corrective Action Program Implementation for Prior Lockout Relay Failure in

5. Implementation of Vendor and Industry Recommended Relay Testing and Maintenance
6. Implementation of the Station Cable Reliability Program
7. Onsite Safety Review Committee Implementation
