During the meeting, the NRC staff stated that it may not be able to meet the 6-month review schedule that the licensee is requesting for DPC-NE-3002, Revision 5, and DPC-NE-3001, Revision 1. The NRC staff also asked questions pertaining to the departure from a nucleate boiling calculation for rod ejection, the situation with a power range flux channel in bypass, the technical justification for how the VIPRE code models flow mixing, and the use of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 50, Section 50.59, for revising these methodology report submittals. In addition, the NRC staff stated that Duke would have to show the capability to use the GDTACO code for analyzing fuel containing gadolinia. | |||
