The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) routinely participates in licensees emergency preparedness exercises to ensure that the NRCs Incident Response capabilities are effectively maintained and to provide licensees an opportunity to exercise the interface with the NRC that may occur during the response to an incident at their sites. NRC PARTICIPATION IN THE BYRON FEBRUARY 2008 HOSTILE ACTION-BASED DRILL
Dear Mr. Pardee:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) routinely participates in licensees emergency preparedness exercises to ensure that the NRCs Incident Response capabilities are effectively maintained and to provide licensees an opportunity to exercise the interface with the NRC that may occur during the response to an incident at their sites. The NRC is currently taking the opportunity to participate in Hostile Action-Based Drills for the same reasons as mentioned above.
