NRC Names New Resident Inspector at Callaway Nuclear Plant

Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in Arlington, Texas, have selected Mike Langelier as

the new Resident Inspector at the Callaway nuclear plant located near Fulton, Mo.

Mike Langeliers technical expertise will assist the NRC in

carrying out its mission to protect people and the environment by

ensuring the safe operation of the Callaway plant, said NRC Region

IV Administrator Marc Dapas.

Langelier joined the Region IV office in February 2014 as a

project engineer in the Division of Reactor Projects. He is a licensed

professional engineer and prior to joining the NRC, he was an

engineer for both an environmental engineering firm and Georgia

Pacific. He served in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear operator on board two submarines. Langelier earned a

bachelors degree in chemical engineering from the University of Maine.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant site has at least two NRC Resident Inspectors.

Langelier joins Senior Resident Inspector Tom Hartman. They serve as the agencys eyes and ears at

the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring significant work projects, and interacting with plant

workers and the public.

The Callaway resident inspectors can be reached at: (573) 676-3181.
