Ladies and Gentlemen:
By {{letter dated|date=March 9, 2009|text=letter dated March 9, 2009}}, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) provided requests for additional information (RAI) to Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC). The NRC requested SNC respond to these RAls within 90 days of the date of the NRC letter and stated that only one response to the RAts was desired. The NRC suggested that, if SNC concludes that more than 90 days is needed to respond to the RAls, SNC should request additional time, including a basis for why such time is needed. The SNC response is due to the NRC on June 5, 2009.
SNC will provide one response letter for all of the NRC RAls by July 31, 2009.
Additional vendor calculations and other information is needed to address NRC RAI Question 10. SNC received this information on May 29,2009. This additional time will allow SNC to review the vendor information, incorporate this additional information into the SNC RAI response, and allow time for management review and approval. This extension has been discussed with Mr. R. E. Martin, NRR Project Manager.
This letter contains no NRC commitments. If you have any questions, please advise.
Sincerely,
~~~
Farley Nuclear Plant - Units 1 and 2 Generic Letter 2004-02 Extension Request - Request For Additional Information (TAC NOS. MC4684 and MC4685)
Ladies and Gentlemen:
By letter dated March 9, 2009, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) provided requests for additional information (RAI) to Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC). The NRC requested SNC respond to these RAls within 90 days of the date of the NRC letter and stated that only one response to the RAts was desired. The NRC suggested that, if SNC concludes that more than 90 days is needed to respond to the RAls, SNC should request additional time, including a basis for why such time is needed. The SNC response is due to the NRC on June 5, 2009.
SNC will provide one response letter for all of the NRC RAls by July 31, 2009.
Additional vendor calculations and other information is needed to address NRC RAI Question 10. SNC received this information on May 29,2009. This additional time will allow SNC to review the vendor information, incorporate this additional information into the SNC RAI response, and allow time for management review and approval. This extension has been discussed with Mr. R. E. Martin, NRR Project Manager.
This letter contains no NRC commitments. If you have any questions, please advise.
Sincerely,
~~~
