Dear Mr. West:

On January 8, 2008, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) received the AmerGen Energy Company, LLCs application for renewal of operating license DPR-50 for the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 1. We are currently performing an acceptance review for docketing in accordance with the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulation, Section 2.101 (10 CFR 2.101), and will notify you of the results of our review. Should the NRC staff determine that the application is acceptable for docketing, a schedule for the review will then be provided to you.

We have enclosed for your information a copy of the notice relating to your application that is being sent to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.

I am pleased to announce the appointment of David J. Wrona and Daniel M. Frumkin as the project managers for your license renewal application. Please forward copies of all license renewal correspondence to Mr. Wrona or Mr. Frumkin. Mr. Peter Bamford continues to remain responsible for the project management of all issues other than license renewal for Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 1.
