U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION REGION III 2017 OPERATOR LICENSING WORKSHOP (PUBLIC MEETING)

Dear Mr. Curtland:

This letter serves to notify you and your staff that the 2017 Operator Licensing Workshop sponsored by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Region III Division of Reactor Safety, Operations Branch, will be held at the Sheraton Hotel, Coltrane Room, located at 3000 Warrenville Road, Lisle, Illinois 60532, on October 3 and 4, 2017. This meeting is categorized as a Public Meeting. This Workshop will focus on topics related to Operator Licensing activities, including an overview of Revision 11 of NUREG-1021, Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors, Initial License Examination Quality, Requalification Issues and Perspectives, NRC Administrative Issues and Perspectives, and the NRCs Operator Digital Docket system.

Members of your operations and training staff involved in the overall Operator Licensing Program, along with your staff, responsible for medical and regulatory assurance, are invited to attend this workshop. Please provide the names and positions of your staff that plan to attend the workshop to Ms. Colleen Schmidt by September 26, 2017, either by phone 630-829-9711 or by e-mail to Colleen.Schmidt@nrc.gov.

In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 2.390, Public Inspections, Exemptions, Requests for Withholding, of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter, its enclosures, and your response (if any) will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRCs Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of the NRC's Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS).
