SUMMARY OF FEBRUARY 15, 2018, MEETING WITH INDIANA MICHIGAN POWER COMPANY REGARDING DONALD C. COOK NUCLEAR PLANT, UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 (EPID L-2018-LRM-0008) On February 15, 2018, a Category I public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of Indiana Michigan Power Company (l&M, the licensee) via teleconference. This meeting was open to members of the public. No regulatory decisions were made at this meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss a planned license amendment request (LAR) for Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant (CNP), Unit Nos. 1 and 2. The licensee intends to submit a request for deviation from the National Fire Protection Association Standard 805 (NFPA-805) regarding currently installed flexible metal conduit. The meeting notice and agenda, dated February 1, 2018, is available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML 18032A 164. A list of attendees is provided as Enclosure 1. The NRC staff approved the licensee's request to transition the fire protection program to a risk-informed, performance-based program based on NFPA-805 by letter dated October 24, 2013 (ADAMS Accession No. ML 13140A398). The licensee stated that they have identified instances where such conduit was used in lengths greater than previously committed to in their transition to NFPA-805 or in applications other than to connect components. Specifically, NFPA-805 states that flexible metal conduits shall only be used in short lengths to connect components.
