1 Changes to IMC 0609 Appendix A

• Revisions based on ROP Feedback Forms.

• Added background discussion about support system initiators.

Separated and clarified the screening questions.

• Added background discussion about exposure time.

• Added background discussion about PRA function, especially as it compares to operability. Separated and clarified the screening questions.

2 Changes to IMC 0609 Appendix A

• Incorporated questions regarding FLEX equipment from IMC 0609 Appendix O. Added background discussion and 3 screening questions.

• Moved reactivity control questions from the reactivity control cornerstone exhibit to the barrier integrity cornerstone exhibit as fuel cladding integrity questions.

• Added a new cladding integrity screening question about foreign material exclusion and reactor coolant chemistry control.

3 Impact

• IMC 0609 Appendix A is better aligned with Attachment 4 and IMC 0612 Appendix B.

• IMC 0609 Appendix O can be sunset.

• Enhanced clarity.

4 Changes to IMC 0609 Attachment 4

• In general, revisions were in response to existing ROP Feedback Forms and to align with formatting guidance in IMC 0040

• Table 2 was modified to include support system initiators and move reactivity management issues to the barrier integrity cornerstone (align with Appendix A and IMC 0612 Appendix B)

• Kickout to IMC 0609 Appendix O removed in Table 3

• Clarification question added in Table 3 to direct users to Appendix A for spent fuel pool issues during shutdown (avoid erroneously going to Appendix G)

• Minor changes made to allow for use with new reactor designs
