EMERGENCY INFORMATloN HANDBOOK DEAR NEIGHBOR: This booklet contains important information. You will need this if there is an emergency at the Perry Plant. That should not happen, but you need to be prepared. You can use this booklet for other kinds of emergencies too. These might be tornadoes or chemical spills. In a Perry Plant emergency, there miaht be danger from rad;ation Too much radiation can be harmful to your health. If a serious accident occurred, you might need to leave the area. Evacuation plans are explained in this booklet. They are made by the groups listed below. Emergency information is impor-tant. Read this booklet. Discuss it with your family. Discuss it with your friends and neighbors. They may need your help, or you may need theirs. If you know someone who is blind, read this booklet to that person. This booklet is printed in Spanish too. Emergency information is also in your local phone book. You can learn more from the groups listed below. - 1. Close all doors and windows.
Turn off the stove, fan, and air conditioner. Pack what you will need (see next page). Turn off lights and appliances. Lock your house. Leave it as if you were go-ing on vacation.
- 2. When you leave, be sure that the green card or a t
towel is in a place that can be seen from the road. This will show that you know about the emergency. Q See the foldout map in the V. center of this booklet for evacuation routes.
- 4. Go to some place at least 10 miles away from the plant. If you need a place to stay, follow an evacuation route to the nearest care center, if you need directions, go to a referral point.
- 5. While dnving, listen to the car radio for more information.

Wind could spread the cloud. If needed, county officials would declare an emergency. This booklet has ex-plained what to do in an emer-gency. In an emergency you would hear sirens.
