Inspection Report 50-353/87-14

This letter transmits our report of the routine resident safety inspection by

Mr. R. A. Gramm and J. E. Kaucher on October 12, 1987 to November 15, 1987 at

the Limerick Generating Station, Unit 2, Limerick, Pennsylvania of activities

authorized by NRC License No. CPPR-107 and to the discussions held by Mr.

Gramm with Mr. J. M. Corcoran and other members of your staff at the

'

conclusion of the inspection.

Based on the results of this inspection, it appears that an activity was not

conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements, as set forth in the Notice

of Violation, enclosed as Appendix A.

This violation involves the failure to

properly translate supplementary material, examination and testing

requiremer ts from the FSAR to the applicable engineering specifications for

the standby diesel generator auxiliary piping.

This violation has been

categorized by severity level in accordance with the NRC Enforcement policy

(10 CFR 2, Appendix C).
