The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff is responding to your memorandum, Status of Recommendations: Audit of NRCs Safeguards Information Local Area Network and Electronic Safe (OIG-13-A-16), dated October 26, 2020 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML20300A326). The updated status of recommendations 3 and 7 are included in the enclosure. Recommendations 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 were closed previously.
The status of recommendations 3 and 7, as well as the target completion dates continue to be impacted by the unique and unanticipated challenges presented by COVID-19. The Global Infrastructure and Development Acquisition contract has now been awarded (September 2020) and the target completion dates for recommendations 3 and 7 have been revised.
