SUMMARY

OF THE MAY 28, 2009 ANNUAL ASSESSMENT PUBLIC MEETING

On May 28, 2009, at 7:00 p.m., the Annual Assessment Meeting was conducted at the Holiday

Inn, Toms River, NJ, between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Exelon Generation

Company, LLC. The NRC requested this meet ing with Exelon management to discuss 2008 performance at the Oyster Creek Generating Station.

The NRC presented and discussed its assessment of the safety performance of Oyster Creek

for the period from January 1 through December 31, 2008. The NRC presentations included a

discussion of the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP), a summary of national performance

assessment results, and the results of NRC's performance assessment of Oyster Creek. As

part of this regulatory performance meeting, Exelon presented its perspective regarding the

plant's performance in 2008 and operational goals for 2009.

The public was invited to observe and at the end of the meeting was offered the opportunity to

communicate with the NRC regarding Exelon's performance at Oyster Creek and the role of the

agency in ensuring safe plant operations. The public also interfaced with NRC at an Open

House held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
