Notice of Intent to Submit License Renewal Application The purpose of this letter is to provide the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) with a notice of Detroit Edison's intent to submit an application for a license renewal of the Fermi 2 nuclear power plant operating license in the second calendar quarter of 2014.
The Fermi 2 operating license expires on March 20, 2025.
This advance notice of intent is provided as requested in Regulatory Issue Summary 2009-06, "Importance of Giving NRC Advance Notice of Intent to Pursue License Renewal" to assist the NRC in planning for future NRC budgets. Detroit Edison will keep the NRC informed of any change in the application schedule.
There are no new commitments included in this letter.
