Dear Sir or Madam:
The purpose of this correspondence is to provide notification that Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) intends to submit a subsequent (second) license renewal application (SLRA) for Cooper Nuclear Station (CNS), License No. DPR-46.
The first renewed license for CNS was issued on November 29, 2010, and will expire at midnight on January 18, 2034. NPPD intends to submit an SLRA in support of a second renewed operating license for CNS in accordance with 10 CFR Part 54, "Requirements for Renewal of Operating Licenses for Nuclear Power Plants," in the fourth quarter of 2026.
This notification is being provided consistent with the Reference. As discussed in RIS 2009-06, NPPD will keep the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) informed of any changes to the anticipated schedule for filing the SLRA for CNS to facilitate NRC resource planning efforts.
