DRESDEN NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNITS 2 AND 3 - SAFETY EVALUATION FOR THE SUBSEQUENT LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION REVIEW (EPID NO. L-2024-SLR-0000)
Dear Mr. Wilson:
By letter dated April 17, 2024 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML24108A007), as supplemented by letters dated February 20, 2025 (package, ML25051A253), March 13, 2025 (package, ML25072A153), April 10, 2025 (package, ML25100A132), April 28, 2025 (package, ML25118A278), and May 8, 2025 (package, ML25128A184), respectively, Constellation Energy Generation, LLC (CEG or the applicant) submitted an application for subsequent license renewal of Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-19 and DPR-25 for Dresden Nuclear Power Station (Dresden), Units 2 and 3, to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 54, Requirements for Renewal of Operating Licenses for Nuclear Power Plants.
The NRC staff determined that the application was complete and acceptable for docketing as communicated by letter dated June 14, 2024 (ML24128A274), and published a notice in the Federal Register on June 24, 2024 (89 FR 52514).
The NRC staff has reviewed the Dresden Subsequent License Renewal Application (SLRA) and has developed the enclosed Safety Evaluation Related to the Subsequent License Renewal of Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Units 2 and 3, hereinafter referred to as the Safety Evaluation (SE). The SE reflects the status of the NRC staffs safety review of the SLRA, as supplemented, through May 8, 2025.
