REVIEW OF THE DRAFT INDIANA AGREEMENT PACKAGE On February 16, 2024, the Division of Material Safety, Security, State, and Tribal Programs (MSST) received a letter ML24055A006 from the State of Indiana indicating that soon after April 1, 2024, the State will submit a draft application to become an U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Agreement State. The State is seeking an Agreement to regulate byproduct, source, and special nuclear materials of less than critical mass quantities.
In addition to staff in MSST, the review team for the Indiana Agreement application will include one staff member from the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) and two regional staff members. To support this review, MSST would appreciate an OGC representative knowledgeable with Agreement State regulations and legislation and regional representatives knowledgeable with licensing, inspection, training, incident response and allegations requirements used in materials programs.
I am requesting that you identify the individual(s) from your office to support the Indiana Agreement application review team. Please provide responses to Sherrie Flaherty (Sherrie.Flaherty@nrc.gov), Duncan White (Duncan.White@nrc.gov), and Adelaide Giantelli (Adelaide.Giantelli@nrc.gov) within 30 days of this memorandum.
