U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Completion Determination Form 898 for EPRI Report 3002025288, Enhanced Risk-Informed Categorization Methodology for Pressure Boundary Components Attachments:

10 CFR 50.69 Alternate Cat of PB SSCs - NRC 898 - signed.pdf Fernando Ferrante, Program Manager, Risk & Safety Electric Power Research Institute 1300 West W.T. Harris Boulevard Charlotte, NC 28262-8550 Fernando Ferrante.

Attached is the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff completeness determination for the Electric Power Research Institute Technical Report 3002025288, Enhanced Risk-Informed Categorization Methodology for Pressure Boundary Components. The NRC staff determined that it provides sufficient information for the NRC staff to conduct a detailed technical review.

As discussed, the NRC staff plans to issue its draft safety evaluation January 2026. If needed, the NRC staff will issue a request for additional information (RAI) in January 2025, with a request for EPRI to provide a response within 90 days. The NRC staff estimates that a total of 2500 staff hours (this includes the hours already charged during the completion review) will be needed to complete the technical review and issue the safety evaluation. The schedule and level of effort could change due to several factors including, the need for additional RAIs, unanticipated changes to the scope of the review, and unsolicited supplements to the topical report. The NRC staff will communicate any changes to the review schedule or estimated staff hours by email, including the reason(s) for the changes.
