In a meeting conducted with the NRC on May 20, 2021, Ameren Missouri presented information pertaining to the potential use of fuel from a new/different fuel vendor (Framatome) for the Callaway plant. It was noted in that meeting that four lead Framatome fuel assemblies have already been placed in the core in non-limiting locations and that a license amendment will be needed to load qualified fuel assemblies in greater quantities, including batch quantities in future refuel outages. The May 20, 2021 meeting, summarized per Reference 1, was therefore a pre-submittal meeting in support of the license amendment needed for the transition to Framatome fuel. The license amendment request is planned for submittal in 2022.
Subsequent to the Reference 1 meeting, some changes in the approach to the planned license amendment request were identified such that the need for a follow-up (second) pre-submittal meeting was recognized. A proposed follow-up meeting was discussed with the NRC, and a meeting date of October 1 4, 2021 for a second pre-submiftal meeting has since been confirmed. Just like the May 20, 2021 meeting, a portion ofthe October 14 meeting is expected to be closed to public participation since some ofthe information to be presented is considered proprietary to Framatome. The presentation material to be used for the meeting has been prepared and is being provided via this letter. to this letter contains sensitive information.

September 28, 2021 Page 2 of 4 Similar to the May 20, 2021 meeting, the presentation materials to be used for the October 14, 2021 meeting are in the form of PowerPoint slides. One set of slides (non-proprietary) is provided per of this letter, which is to be used for the public meeting. Two sets of slides are provided in connection with the closed meeting. Specifically, the slides provided in Enclosure 2 are a redacted, non-proprietary version of the closed meeting slides, from which the proprietary information has been removed, as shown on the affected slides. Enclosure 3 provides the proprietary version ofthe closed meeting slides for use in the closed meeting. To be clear, Enclosure 3 contains information that is proprietary to Framatome and is to be withheld from public disclosure. for both Enclosures 2 and 3, brackets and notation indicate the placement of the proprietary information and the basis for withholding the information from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.390. The basis for withholding is further explained in the Framatorne affidavit provided as Enclosure 4.
