NOTICE OF VIOLATION Ad Sequoyah Fuels Corporation LicenseNo.98$
License No. 1174 As a result of the inspection conducted on August 18-22, 1986, and in accordance with " General Policy and Procedures for NRC Enforcement Actions,"
10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (1985), the following violation was identified:
10 CFR 70.59, Effluent monitoring reporting requirements, states that each licensee authorized to possess and use special nuclear material shall submit a report to the appropriate NRC Regional Office within 60 days after January 1, and July 1, quantifying the principle radionuclides released to unrestricted areas in liquid and gaseous effluents in order that the Commission may estimate maximum potential annual radiation doses to the public.
Contrary to the above, the licensee's effluent report was not submitted in a timely manner. The date noted on the report (March 3, 1986) exceeded the 60-day limitation.
This is a Severity Level V violation (Supplement IV).
The inspection showed that action had been taken to correct the identified violation and to prevent recurrence.
Consequently, no reply to this violation is required and we have no further questions regarding this matter.
