Dear Mr. Peterson:

On September 30,1998, the staff issued Amendment 173 (for Unit 1) and Amendment 165 (for Unit 2) to the Catawba Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2, Technical Specifications (TS).

Ms. Luellen Jones of your staff recently pointed out that there was a minor typographical error on one of the new TS pages. Specifically, page 3.6.17-3, which contains requirements on the Containment Valve injection Water System, should have been numbered page 3.6.17-1 l

instead. Enclosed please find the corrected page.
