The US Department of Energy (DOE) requests an amendment to NRC Certificate of Compliance (CoC) No. 5797, Rev. 20 (Docket 71-5797) based on corrections to the Hypothetical Accident Condition (HAC) thermal analysis in Safety Analysis Report for Packaging (SAR): ORNL HFIR Unirradiated Fuel Element Shipping Container, ORNL/TM-11656, Revision 11, June 2018, for the HFIR Unirradiated Fuel Element Shipping Containers. These corrections to the SAR are in response to your letter and its Safety Evaluation Report dated March 18, 2020.
is evaluation of the error and change plan. Enclosure 2 is a summary of changes to SAR. Both Enclosures 1&2 are submitted to expedite NRC staffs review of the SAR. Enclosure 3 is the SAR Revision 12 page changes that implement the corrections.
