Dear Dr. Collins:
This letter will confirm recent conversations with Mr. Don Womeldorf, Mr.
Jack McGurk and Dr. Gerard Wong relating to NRC's visit to pre-review the California Radiation Control Program for Agreement Materials and Radioactive Waste. The visit is scheduled for April 18 - 22, 1988.
This will be an informal visit to assess the status of your program and to discuss topics of mutual concern.
The usual questions sent to you in preparation for a full review will not be needed for this visit. We would like to discuss the status of the California Radiation Control Program with you on Friday, April 22, 1988, if that date is convenient with you.
Our concerns, if any, will be addressed in a memorandum to the NRC California file and will not be sent to your management.
You, Mr. Womeldorf and Mr.
McGurk will receive a copy of this memorandum as guidance for preparation for California's next full review.
Mrs. Kathleen Schneider from our Headquarters State Agreements Program and Mr. William Adam, our Region III State Agreements Representative, will be assisting me.
