Members of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will meet with representatives of Florida Power & Light Co. (FPL) Friday (November 1) to discuss preliminary results of a special inspection of the St. Lucie plant's emergency preparedness program.
The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m.
in Room 123 of the plant's Nuclear Training Center on/tutchinson Island and will be open to the public for observation.C i
NRC conducted the three-week inspection after the agency received concerns related to the plant's emergency preparedness program.
Findings discussed at Friday's meeting - including any apparent violations and whatever enforcement action, if any, is warranted - are subject to further review by NRC management.
Final findings will be documented in an inspection report expected to be issued in about 30 days.
Another NRC meeting involving the St. Lucie plant is scheduled to be held in the NRC's Region II office at 101 Marietta Street in Atlanta Tuesday, November 12 from 10:30 a.m.

The purpose of that meeting is to discuss the J
status of FPL's Corrective Action Program at the St. Lucie plant.
That meeting is also open to the public for observation.
