Closure:
Bechtel's topical BN-TOP-3, Rev. 4 was provided to the NRC in a letter dated Sept. 30, 1977'from Mr. B. Lex (Manager of Engineering) to M. K. Kniel (Chief of LWR's, USNRC).
This code has been used by Bechtel on other projects and the results obtained have been found acceptable based on the NRC's confirmatory calculations.
6.5-1 Provide adequate assurance that the water seals in the filter housing drain system are always maintained.

- Closure: The FHB filter unit drain pipes are not submerged in a water-filled barrel. A normally closed shut-off valve will be

provided in the drain pipes of the FHB filter units to preclude the possibility of air infiltration and allow draining of the units.
4 15.6-2 The staff has received the initial report of the Subgroup, WCAP-10698, and is-currently waiting for supplements.
1 Closure: As stated in the response to question 440.70 STP is e member of the Westinghouse Owners Group on SGTR. Upon resolution of the i
issue and issuance of the final report HL&P intends to use the guidance developed by the Owners Group.
This item should be considered confirmatory pending final acceptance of the Westinghouse Owners Group final submittal by the NRC.
3.10-16 The applicant should identify any pumps and valves that are considered to be functional accessories for active safety-related equipment.

This list, however, will not be included in the FSAR. Details on the qualification of these components will be provided as part of the master list of components which is to be submitted prior to che PVORT/SQRT audits. The schedule for the submittal was provided to you under a separate letter (ST-HL-AE-1300 dated July 17, 1985).
9.3-4 Provide concentrated Boric Acid Sample Cooler, Polishing Demineralizer and filter design information.
