BRUNSWICK STEAM ELECTRIC PLANT, UNIT NOS.1 AND 2 DOCKET NOS. 50-325 & 50-324/ LICENSE NOS. DPR-71 & DPR-62 RESPONSE TO THE NRC STAFF REQUEST FOR INFORMATION WITHIN 180 DAYS FOR NRC GENERIC LETTER 95-07, " PRESSURE LOCKING AND THERMAL BINDING OF SAFETY-RELATED POWER-OPERATED GATE VALVES" Gentlemen:

On October 16,1995, CP&L submitted our 60-day response (Serial: BSEP 95-0537) to Generic Letter 95-07 " Pressure Locking and Thermal Binding of Safety-Related Power-Operated Gate Valves". Based on our discussion with the NRC/NRR Project Manager, CP&L will provide by February 13,1996 (180-days), a summary of the valves identified as susceptible to pressure locking or thermal binding. Included will be a schedule for any necessary corrective actions. As originally committed, the remainder of the 180 day requested information will be submitted prior to April 26,1996.
