SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE REPORT Unit 2 operated at 100% reactor power from the beginning of the report period, except for three brief reductions in power.

An automatic runback to 82% reactor power occurred on December 2 at 2130 due to failure of No.

24 static inverter, causing a spurious signal in the Nuclear Instrument System Dropped Rod Runback protection circuitry.

On December 20 at 0110, an automatic runback to 85% reactor power occurred due to a loss of power to a protection channel during performance of-a surveillance test.

On December 22 at 2100, reactor power was reduced to 11% to perform a monthly surveillance test on the Main Turbine Control and stop Valves and to perform corrective maintenance on No.

22 main feedwater regulatory valve.

Unit 2 performance statistics for the 1983 calendar year set new records l

l for the plant in the areas of Gross Generation, Net Generation, Unit Heat j.

Rate, Capacity Factor and Availability Factor.
