M. l. LEWIS
% BRADF':RD TERP" PHl f pg 19349 W3. J. Dircks Sir:
In your letter of Jul 19 to the Commissioners, you state,"maybe I am missing something."
You most assuredly are!
The existence of the Hartment allegations were known as you state on Page 2.
The transcript was not avillable in the PDR to the best of my knowledge. There is a grave difference between knowing that a person a11 edged something and actually knowing the exact allegations.
As a lawyer you should know that not-so-subtle difference.
I have just read the Hartment allegations. They are much much brader that just fudging leak rates. They have not been aired.
Evin more pointedly, as a member of the NRC you are chartered to protect the health and safety of the public. You were grossly remiss in g our duty to protect the health and safsty of the public by not fully airing tae Hartment matter in the Restart Hearings as his that allegations did affect the safety of the public.
I would say that I hope that you are fired for your incompetency and insensitivity sxcept that you would probably wind up with a better job in the nuclear power industry.
