Status of the Follow-On-Item Technical Assessment Program:

1. There have been 873 Follow-On-Items (FOl's) identified and prioritized.

2. The technical assessment of 843 of the FOl's is complete.

3. Actions to close out 578 FOI's are complete. Note that the FOI's are not considered closed out until either all recommendations are actually performed or resolved, or the actions have been prepared and have entered a controlled administrative process (for example the procedure revision process).

4. There were two high-priority FOl's in the assessment process on July 5,1994.

5. During the first half of 1994 there was no new Licensee Event Report relating to FOl work.

Status of Onuoine Configuration Management Work;

1. The P1 Design Standards section is continuing to support a project to improve site electrical drawings and development cf the site Engineering Manual. The first volume of this manual was issued in 1992, and development has continued. There are now two volumes containing a broad range of practical guidance.

2. An initiative is in progress to review early Prairic Island licensing correspondence for identification of commitments. Commitments are documented and researched to verify appropriate disposition. Prairie Island is presently tracking 1217 commitments to the NRC.

Modifications and non-modification Safety Evaluations are reviewed for consistency with the documented design basis. During the first half of 1994 there have been a total of 34 modifications and 19 safety evaluations reviewed.

Prairie Island Configuration Management engineers are continuing to revise previous DBD's to incorporate new modifications, regulatory matters, and closure of Open Items.

Three revised DBD's have been approved during the first half of 1994.
