Dear Sir:

NUREG-0737 Item II.K.3.3. requested that challenges to safety and relief valves (SRV's) be reported on an annual basis, with data accumulation beginning on April 1, 1980.

In the referenced letter, the Power Authority submitted a report on challenges occurring between April 1 and December 31, 1980.

This letter provides a report of challenges occurring between January 1 and December 31, 1981.

On January 17, 1981, during a transient resulting in a reactor scram, the A, B,

H and K valves were manually cycled one time each.

There were no other SRV challenges in 1981.

In the future, the Power Authority will report SRV challenges annually.
