Interim Report - Reportable 10 CFR 50.63 (e) Item - Westinghouse 3 Inch Motor Operated Gate Valves

Dear Sir:

On Thursday, October 30, 1980, we reported that Westinghouse 3 inch motor operated gate valves identified 3 GM78, 3 GM88 and 3 GM99 were considered a reportable item under 10 CFR 50.55 (e).

This interim report is being filed in accordance with the thirty day reporting requirements of 10 CFR 50.55 (e).

Testing la in progress to determine the cause and corrective action to correct this problem.

The testing is scheduled to be completed early in 1981.

i Upon review of the test results a corrective action will be generated.

update this interim report upon definition of the proposed corrective action.
