On May 23, 1979, during the 1979 refueling outage a Bechtel Power Corpor-ation review of Class IE electrical equipment in the drywell, in response to IE Bulletin 79-01, indicated that tr.e solenoid en reactor sample isolation valve 831-F019 did not have a cc=plete temcerature and raciation qualifica-tion test report to qualify it to perform uncer an accident concition.

There was no significant effect on plant safety frca this event since this valve would have failed in the closed condition and there is a redundant valve to assure that primary contair. ment isolation is met.

At the time of installation, the solenoid valve was not recuired to have test results for temperature and radiation requirements.

The later impler.-

ented IES 79-01 rcquired that all Class IE electrical equi: cent in the dry-well teet test resuits for radiation ar.d tercerature for accident cendi:icns which the originally installed equicren: can nc: r.:ee c.

A new ASCO model NS320AISSE has ceen orcered to replace the installed ASCO model 830231 solenoid and this will be ins.talled prior to startup.
