Section Title NUCLEAR EQUIPMENT QUALITY AUDITS
- 1. O PUR POSE:
It is the purpose of this Policy to establish the element of auditing within the Quality Assurance system.
- 2. O SCOPE:
The requirements of this Policy shall apply to all work performed on components for use in Nuclear systems fabricated.in accordance with MIL-Q-9858A.
- 3. O NE QUALITY ASSURANCE SHOP SURVEILLANCE:
NE Quality Assurance shall be responsible for performing surveil-lance of shop activities during fabrication. Written instructions shall be prepared defining the objectives and procedures applicable to the surveillance activities. The survelliance shall be performed according to established schedules that are not known to the

shops.
- 4. O NE QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEM AUDITS:
NE Quality Assurance shall coordinate a minimum of six Quality System Audits each year. The audit team shall be composed of personnel selected from one or more of the following Nuclear Equipment organizations:

Contract D.
Production B.
Manufacturing E.
Quality Assurance C.
Enginee ring F.
Other NE Departments Plus a qualified auditor from Quality Assurance Systems. to act as audit coordinator..
The auditors shall not have direct responsibility in the arec. being audited.

To assure implementation of corrective action, a follow-up log will, be maintained by Nuclear Equipment Quality Assurance for future targeted corrective action and delinquent corrective action.
