Dear Sir:
We wish to inform you that the completion date for Item 3.2.1, " Safe Shutdown Analysis" which was previously due on October 1, 1979, has slipped to November 15, 1979, as a result of our desire to complete all engineering activities associated with the initiation of fire protection measures for Item 3.1.6 (coating of PVC cable) and Item 3.1.14 (exposed steel).
In our engineering judgement, the importance of these items in effecting a safe shutdown of the plant warranted assigning a higher priority.
Consequently, Items 3.1.6 and 3.1.14 will be completed far in advance of the current completion dates of March 1, 1980, and July 1, 1980, respectively.
The safe shutdown analysis for the cable Spreading Room was submitted via Reference (b); the analyses for each of the other eight areas will be sub-mitted as soon as each is completed. We anticipate that all analyses will be submitted prior to the date stipulated above.
We trust this schedule revision meets with your approval.
