2515 Appendix C NRC INSPECTION MANUAL IRIB INSPECTION MANUAL CHAPTER 2515 APPENDIX C SPECIAL AND INFREQUENTLY PERFORMED INSPECTIONS This appendix lists inspection procedures that are implemented infrequently for special situations. These inspections may be implemented in response to events, infrequent major activities at nuclear power plants, to evaluate emergent technical issues not related to licensee performance, to fulfill NRCs obligations under domestic interagency memoranda of understanding, or to implement the requirements of 10 CFR Part 75 for treaties between the United States and the International Atomic Energy Agency.

These inspections are not part of the baseline or supplemental inspection program elements and Regional Administrator authorization is required for their implementation (see exception below).

This appendix also lists IPs for inspecting Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installations (ISFSIs) at operating plants. The implementation of ISFSI procedures listed in this manual chapter does not require authorization from the Regional Administrator. IMC 2690, Inspection Program for Dry Storage of Spent Reactor Fuel at ISFSIs, lists IPs for inspecting ISFSIs at other than operating plants.

Each inspection procedure in the table below will be reviewed in accordance with the periodicity and process specified in Inspection Manual Chapter 0307. [C1]
