APPLICATION FOR AMENDMENT NO. 5 TO HI-STORM FLOOD AND WIND CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE NO. 1032 - ACCEPTED FOR REVIEW

Dear Ms. Manzione:

By letter dated January 6, 2017, supplemented May 12, 2017, November 3, 2017, and January 12, 2018, you submitted an application for Amendment No. 5 to Certificate of Compliance No.

1032, for the HI-STORM Flood and Wind storage system. The application requested new heat load patterns for both the MPC-37 and MPC-89, the addition of two new fuel types, an addition of a new material type to the Alloy X family of materials previously authorized, and revision of the calculation for effective fuel conductivities to utilize the FLUENT computational program.

Staff conducted an acceptance review of your application. This letter acknowledges receipt of your application and informs you that the application appears to contain the necessary information to begin our review.

We have established a schedule for the review. The schedule allows for the staff to issue a request for additional information (RAI) by May 11, 2018, and, if a second RAI is not needed, a certificate of compliance by February 2019, based on you responding to the RAI by June 15, 2018.
