[EXTERNAL] NRC Offer of Public Meeting to Discuss EGC's Appeal of Compliance Backfit Affecting Braidwood and Byron Mr. Gullott, On December 23, 2015, the NRC sent Exelon Generation Company, LLC (EGC) a letter (ADAMS ML15351A372) acknowledging receipt of EGCs appeal (ADAMS ML15342A112) of the imposition of a compliance backfit affecting Braidwood and Byron Generating Stations (ADAMS ML14225A871). In that letter we indicated that a backfit review panel would be appointed and that EGC would be offered an opportunity to present its appeal to the panel at a public meeting. In a memorandum dated January 23, 2016 (ADAMS ML15355A081), the Office Director of Nuclear Reactor Regulation appointed me as Chairman of the backfit review panel.
It is my understanding that you are the EGC point of contact that the NRC should interface with for this issue.
The purpose of this message is to confirm whether EGC would like to present to the backfit review panel at a public meeting. Please communicate EGCs response in a reply to this message no later than Friday, January 22. You do not need to include expected attendees, planned presentation materials, or other technical information in your reply. We will discuss those logistical details at a later date.
This message and your reply will be entered into ADAMS as an official Agency record documenting the public meeting decision.
