Dear Sir or Madam:
Pursuant to 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 50.82(a)(1)(i), Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (Entergy) hereby certifies to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission that it has decided to permanently cease power operations at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station no later than June 1, 2019. The exact timing of the shutdown depends on several factors, including further discussion with ISO New England Inc. The exact timing of the shutdown is expected to be decided in the first half of 2016. Entergy will submit a supplement to this letter certifying the date on which operations have ceased or will cease, in accordance with 10 CFR 50.82(a)(1 )(i) and 10 CER 50.4(b)(8).
