REVISION OF SCHEDULE FOR THE CONDUCT OF REVIEW OF THE SOUTH TEXAS PRO..IECT LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (TAC NOS. ME4938, ME4939, ME 5122, AND ME5123)

Dear Mr. Rencurrel:

By letter dated October 25, 2010, STP Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC) submitted an application pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 54 (10 CFR Part 54). to renew operating licenses NPF-76 and NPF-80 for the South Texas Project (STP), Units 1 and 2, for review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff). This letter is to inform you about a schedule change in the STP license renewal review.

In June 2013, the NRC issued the revised NUREG-1437, "Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Power Plants "(GElS) and the revised NUREG-1555, Supplement 1, "Standard Review Plans for Environmental Reviews for Nuclear Power Plants; Environmental Standard Review Plan for Operating License Renewal" (ESRP). The NRC staff requires additional time to review and update the information in the Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) for STP to ensure that the staff's analyses and conclusions are consistent with the revised GElS and the guidance in the revised ESRP.

Enclosed is the revised schedule for the environmental review of the STP license renewal application. The schedule has been updated to reflect a change in the date of the issuance of the final SEIS.
