Application to modify the Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes § 4-181 a (b) based on changed conditions related to the existing independent spent fuel-storage installation on property located off Rope Ferry Road, Waterford, Connecticut.

Pursuant to General Statutes §16-50j(h), the Connecticut Siting Council hereby solicits state agency written comments and consultation. A response on or before December 13, 2012, will be appreciated. A copy of the application with location maps has previously been provided to you, pursuant to General Statutes §16-501. (860) 827-2935 Fax: (860) 827-2950 E-Mail: siti-ng.counc~il@ct.gov www.ct.gov/csc SupOlemental Hearing Notice' The Connecticut Siting Council has previously published a notice for a public hearing to be held at Waterford Town Hall, Auditorium, 15 Rope Ferry Road, Waterford, Connecticut on December 20,_2012 beginning at.2:00 p.m. on an application from Dominion. Nuclear Connecticut, Inc., and continuing thereafter as necessary. The applicant submitted an addendum to the application pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes §4-181 a (b) to modify the Decision and Order in Docket No. 265 to install concrete pads large enough to accommodate 135 horizontal storage modules, to make drainage improvements and to widen areas for loading operations within the existing IndePendent Spent Fuel Storage Installation based on changed,conditions. The. changed conditions include, but are not limited to, considerations and recommendations of the U.S. Department of Energy regarding scientific and technical options available for storage, processing and disposal of spent nuclear fuel.
Pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes § 4-181 a (b), the Council will determine if the changed conditions related to the existing Independent Sipent Fuel Storage Installation justify a modification of the Decision and Order in Docket 265.
The Council has assigned this application Docket No. 265A. A copy of the application and the addendum are available for review at the Council's office or on the Council website at http://www.ct.gov.csc under the link "Pending Proceedings."
